A perfect example of an Art Deco silver plated swing handled ice bucket with deep ice melt chamber to base below a removable disc. Complete with a pair of ‘claw’ ice tongs, circa 1930s. All pieces with the marks for Elkington, England.
Elkington was one of the excellent English silversmiths of the 19th Century, established in Sheffield in 1830. They enjoyed an enviable reputation in the hey-day of 20th Century English silversmithing.
