An excellent quality, mid 19th Century, silver plated tureen of oval form with beaded rims, acanthus mounted reeded handles, crested lid, and raised above an oval stepped foot. Length including handles measuring 34cm with makers hallmark for Elkington, Circa 1842-1864.
This useful item could be used for soup or vegetables and, when not in use, line it internally and fill it with spring bulbs. It's a real show-stopper.
