Perfect for use in the garden! This beautiful 19th Century silver plated wine ewer or claret jug has trailing fruiting vine leaves spiralling around to become the vine stalk handle. The base unscrews to reveal a small chamber which can be filled with ice to keep the contents cool if white wine or water. The piece is showing its great age and has the patina of some wear to the silver plating as well as a large bruise to one side. The piece is perfectly usable and any wear adds to its charm and informal appeal.
