A early 19th Century Georgian hand blown and cut Irish crystal large pedestal bowl. Superb quality with a scalloped rim, the unusual pedestal base has applied cut lozenges on the flat, Circa 1830.
Designed to capture and reflect the candlelight in a dazzling display these beautiful hand cut bowls are perfect filled with fruit or flowers on a dining table, or used as a small punch bowl.
Ireland's glass industry took off in the 18th Century, and the best glassmakers in England and Ireland (then part of Great Britain) created exquisite glassware known as Anglo Irish glass. The bowl is in good condition with only a very few minor nibbles around the rim, which is considered acceptable for an item of this great age.
