Sublime 36 piece mother of pearl and silver cutlery canteen

A sublime antique cutlery set of mother of pearl and silver plate, by T Smith & Sons, Glasgow Circa 1890s. This magnificent set has beautifully translucent mother of pearl handles with silver plated foliage patterned ferrules and heels, perfect for starter or dessert. The knives are of a good length, highly chased on the blade, which also has a serrated end. The forks have three prongs and are similarly engraved.

It is particularly unusual to find a canteen of 36 pieces (for 18 people). The set is in excellent condition, comes in the original mahogany and brass canteen case lined with aqua velvet and satin and retains its original locking key. A rare find indeed!
