Christofle Luc Lanel ice bucket

A rare silver plated ice bucket designed by Luc Lanel for Christofle (shown with unusual Art Deco mechanical ice tongs, sold separately). Originally part of a collection created by famous brand Christofle in the 1930s called "Ondulations" specifically for the First Class bar and restaurant of the great ocean liner SS Normandie - the main rival to our own The Queen Mary. The two ships sparred to achieve The Blue Riband, whisking the great and the good speedily across the Atlantic.

The ice bucket is in excellent condition and retains its original ice melt catcher. Circa 1930s
