Mother of pearl handled canteen by Mappin & Webb

A gorgeous Victorian mother of pearl handled canteen of fruit knives and forks for twelve diners by Mappin Brothers, (later becoming Mappin & Webb) Circa 1870s.  

The silver plated blades are elaborated etched and each knife and fork handle is spiral cut mother of pearl with spiral silver ferrules. Still in the original cerise pink velvet and ruched satin lined canteen box which allows the knife layer to  tip up and reveal the lower row of matching forks.

In good condition with some mild lifting to the plate on a couple of knives. The box has been repaired on the first layer.
